Historical NotesSquires Carriage Company token for $5.00 off of a carriage. The Squires Carriage Company was founded on July 23, 1902, with $40,000 in capital. The purpose of the company was to manufacture iron and steel and goods of commerce from iron, steel, and wood including silverware, plated ware, jewelry, works of ornament, and the buying and selling of such articles. This is how They are listed in the Pennsylvania List of Charters of Corporations for 1901 to 1903. Several references to them in 1907-1908 papers show they sold various styles of carriages, harnesses, and other such transportation goods.
