In their first post-season since the team's formation, the Pittsburgh Passion defeated the Columbus Comets by a score of 32-0 to take the National Women's Football Association championship and cap a perfect 12-0 season. Formed in 2002 by owner/player Teresa Conn, the Passion use Cupples Stadium on the South Side as their home field. NWFA teams play with the same rules as the National Football League, with a few exceptions such as the size of the football.
