(7.6 x 7.6 cm)Historical NotesObtained by donor Jim Glick at a Pittsburgh Hornet's game, c. 1952. According to Glick, this puck hit him while he was sitting in the stands. The Pittsburgh Hornets, a minor-professional team that played at the Duquesne Gardens, began in 1935 as the Pittsburgh Shamrocks, members of the International Hockey League (soon after the American Hockey League). In 1956, the Hornets moved to Rochester, New York, but the franchise would return to Pittsburgh from 1961-1967.
