DescriptionBlack wide leather belt with two nearly identical metal and plastic decorative pieces at center attached with two flathead screws visible on the back. Each decorative piece is square and has silver chrome metal border and layered translucent, yellow, and pink/red plastic in the shape of a rounded square. One end of the belt has two metal hooks mounted in the leather and the other end has two rows of three silver grommets painted black.Dimensions4 x 1 x 38.75 in. (10.2 x 2.5 x 98.4 cm)
Historical NotesAaronel deRoy Gruber was a 1940 graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) who majored in costume design. Gruber started out as a painter dedicated to the Abstract Expressionist movement that dominated the mid-20th century and later, beginning in the 1960s, got involved in sculpture working in steel, Uvex, and Plexiglas. In the late 1980s she got involved in photography. Gruber continued working up until her death in 2011. Donor Terry Gruber is the son of Aaronel deRoy Gruber and Irving Gruber.
