Historical NotesA sterilizing jar from Ray Outlaw’s Barber Shop on Fifth Avenue in the Hill District. Part of a collection related to Fifth Avenue High School and alum Ray Outlaw. Donor Ray Outlaw played basketball and football for Fifth Avenue High School from 1958 to 1964, he grew up four blocks from the school. He opened a barber shop called Ray Outlaw's Barber Shop at 1819 Fifth Avenue; it was open from 1970 until 1986. The last principal at Fifth Avenue gave Outlaw the donated items when the school closed in 1976.
