InscriptionsEmbossed on one side, "PEOPLE'S / BREWING CO. / DUQUESNE, PA."
MarksOn opposite side from retailer text, near base, embossed maker's mark: "D.O.C. 1289".
Historical NotesThis brewery was owned by a group of Milwaukee-based African American investors. As a result of this purchase and the subsequent African American directed stock sale, the Peoples Brewing Company became the first major African American owned brewery in Wisconsin. Maker's mark most likely belonged to Dominic O. Cunningham.
