Historical NotesPart of a collection of eleven works of art donated by the artist. Born in Braddock, Pa., Jacobs moved from the area when he was a teen. In 1982, after dreaming about his childhood, he spent the next year painting and drawing Braddock as he remembered it as well as authoring a series of poems and short stories on the town. This work brings to life the steel town in the 1930s, the mill, the homes on Cherry Alley and Talbot Street, Agudath Achim synagogue, and the people from Jacobs’ neighborhood.
