Historical NotesOtto Milk Company of Pittsburgh milk bottle. The item was purchased by donor Sondra Otto Lockard, who believes she may be a distant relative of the founding family of Otto Dairy. The maker's mark indicates that the manufacturer of the bottle was the Owens-Illinois Glass Company, Toledo, OH (head office). The number seven in the mark indicates the factory, which was located in Alton, Illinois. The number two in the mark indicates the last number in the date of manufacturing; therefore, the date could stand for 1942, 1952, 1962, or 1972.
