Historical NotesCommemorative pin from the 1997 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, founded in 1983, is held in Schenley Park where racers guide their cars through the winding streets. The event, which tests both driver and machine, attracts racers from around the country who participate in the weeklong celebration that includes car shows and motor sport events. In it’s over 25-year history, the Vintage Grand Prix has raised almost $2 million for charity. Collected to document this exciting Pittsburgh sporting tradition, which celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2007.
