Historical NotesSafety goggles used by the Sisters at the Divine Redeemer Academy in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, in their science labs. The goggles appear to be automobile or aviator goggles that the Sisters repurposed and speaks to their commitment to thrift and recycling materials. Donor Kathleen Washy received the goggles from Sister Roberta Sinclair who worked at the Academy. Sister Roberta Sinclair taught chemistry and although she never used the goggles to teach her students she understands they were used in the 1930s and 1940s. She took them with her to Serra Catholic after Divine Redeemer closed. Sister Roberta Sinclair was also a former student at the Academy.
