DescriptionPilot's flight goggles. Gray metal frames with glass lenses and hinge at center. Frames are mounted on leather form; leather is gray on front and brown textured on reverse. Historical NotesWilliam A. Johnston, a native of Sewickley, served as a Second Lieutenant with the 15th Air Force of the 332nd Fighter Group of the Tuskegee Army Air Corps from 1944 to the end of the war. Afterwards, Johnston worked for the Federal Aviation Administration and flew as a corporate pilot.
