InscriptionsAlong the top of the token reads: "MAJ. GEN. JOHN F. HARTRANFT". Along the bottom reads: " REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR OF PENNSYLVANIA." On the reverse, starting in the bottom left side and running along edge of token and stopping on the bottom right side reads: "THE HERO OF FORT STEADMAN" [sic]. In the middle of the token, from top-down, reads "AND / 24 / BATTLES".
