Historical NotesA hat from Misses Pence & Erwin, a dressmaking and millinery shop that was located in downtown Pittsburgh. The business was operated by Sarah E. Pence and Katherine E. Erwin. In April 1896, the business moved from 502 Penn Avenue to 515 and 517 Penn Avenue. At some point prior to 1896 the business was located at 952 Penn Avenue.
