Label TextA menorah or hanukkiah is a nine-branched candelabrum used during the eight-day holiday of Hanukkah. Starting with one candle the first night, an additional candle is lit each successive night and a blessing is said. The holiday is celebrated at home and commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Israel after a successful revolt against Greek oppression about 2000 years ago. This menorah is from the Machsikei Hadas Congregation.
