Historical NotesShoes worn by Herbert Douglas at the 1948 Olympic Games in London. Douglas won the bronze medal in the long jump at these games, the first native Pittsburgher to win an Olympic medal. Douglas attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a member of the track and field team and a walk-on football player for the school.
