Historical NotesPortable water cup, used by Ramon Arroyo during career as a truck repairman for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Arroyo's family lived in East Liberty, originally from Periban de Ramos, Michoacan, Mexico. An immigrant from Mexico, Arroyo came to Pittsburgh around 1921 after a series of railroad jobs in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Johnstown, PA.Label TextRamon Arroyo used this collapsible portable cup when working as a track repairman for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Although usually seen as a more recent phenomenon, Mexican immigrants like Arroyo were an important part of the diverse population of Western Pennsylvania prior to World War II.
