Historical NotesDonated to the Serb National Federation from family of late Ann Maravich, Aliquippa.Label TextLike the gusle and other Serbian instruments, the frula came to America with Serbians who intended to maintain their culture in the new land. The frula is a Shepherd’s flute, with a piccolo-like sound. The shepherd played the instrument while tending his sheep. Many Serbians continue to play this music in America.
