Originally donated by Colonel Archibald Blakeley to the Carnegie on October 15, 1902. Blakeley was regiment commander of the 78th Pennsylvania Volunteers, and brought the trunk back to Pittsburgh as a reminder of his regiment's involvement in the Battle of Chickamauga.
