Historical NotesBlack and white watercolor painting depicting the experiences of African American soldiers during World War II that is part of a collection belonging to civil and women's rights activist Daisy Lampkin. This trophy was awarded in recognition of her civil rights work. Lampkin was the Vice President of the Pittsburgh Courier, national field secretary for the NAACP, influential member of the National Council of Negro Women, and, for 40 years, President of the Lucy Stone League.
