Historical NotesPittsburgh Maulers seat cushion. The Maulers were a football team in the short-lived United States Football League (1983-1985). The Maulers played only during the 1984 season. The USFL started out with a spring and summer schedule, but when they switched to the fall many teams, including the Maulers, folded due to the competition with more established NFL teams.
