Young People's Zionist League

The Young People’s Zionist League was a co-ed Jewish social and literary club based in the Hill District in the early 20th century. The organization was founded on June 4, 1916 under the auspices of the local Zionist Council of Pittsburgh and continued hosting events into the early 1920s. At its peak, it reported more than 75 members. The Young People’s Zionist League met at the Zionist Institute building at 1851 Centre Avenue until 1919, when it rented space at 2041 Centre Avenue. It hosted lectures, programs, cultural and social events and participated in wider Zionist fundraising activities in the region. The Young People’s Zionist League was a member of the international Mizrachi organization.
