John Mitcheltree

BiographyJohn Mitcheltree went to Youngstown for finance and started at Westinghouse in 1965 as a coil winder in the Sharon plant (old Savage arms plant). The plant would wind coil on large lathe machines that had originally been used at the East Pittsburgh plant and were transferred in 1915 and still used in 1965. Mitcheltree became a foreman at Sharon and ran the GEORG core line. When Westinghouse started to downsize around 1980 he stayed on because he had a degree, but his position changed to a buyer (he bought the parts and pieces for transformers). In 1984 he moved to the nuclear plants in Forest Hills, Monroeville and Cheswick. Then around 2000 he moved over to the New Stanton plant and retired from there in 2013 as a production planner, which he states was essentially running the machine shop.
