DescriptionBoard game compromised of a box lid and base, a game board, four game pieces, a game spinner or indicator, and a detached pieces of the lid. Top of lid features a red background with clouds set against it. In the center is an image of a woman wearing a white plumed hat, a green, red, and white checkered top, and a green and white skirt, holding a walking stick in her right hand, and holding a piece of paper in her left hand. She is standing on the top half of Earth. There is black and green text above her image. Black maker's mark on the lower proper right side of the box, and a second maker's mark in the lower proper left side. Around the edges are images of different types of ships. Underside of lid features black typed text. Base is a white cardboard, containing cardboard insert for game piece storage. Gameboard is black on the back, and folds in half. Opened, there are a series of boxes that form a swirl to the center of the board. There are various images of ships, trains, people, monuments, and cities within the squares, which are also either blue, pink, red, or yellow background colors. The center of the board depicts the Statue of Liberty, with a city surrounded by two rivers in the center. There is a trumpet above the scene with black text appearing to be coming out of the open end of the trumpet. There is a different illustrated scene in each corner. In the top left corner, there is an image of a woman in a brown, yellow, and red checked traveling dress coat and hat, and is holding a bag in her right hand. Black text above image, and blue text below image. In the top right corner, there is an illustration of a bearded man wearing a suit and bowtie in profile to the proper right side. Black text below his image. To the proper right of him is a person wearing a red coat, pants, and hat running away, with black text below image. In the lower right corner, there is an illustration of a train, with black text written on the car. Black text below image. In the lower left corner, there is an image of a steamship on choppy water. Black text below image. The four wooden turned games pieces are blue, yellow, green, and red. The game spinner, also called an indicator, is a square piece cardboard with a colorful face, with numbers printed within a circle that lines up underneath the metal spinner, which is attached to the center. There are two detached pieces of the box lid. The large piece has red paper with an illustration of a ship steaming towards the Statue of Liberty on one side. (1-6) The board represents the famous trip / around the world accomplished by "Nellie Bly" of the New York / World in 73 days, each square standing for one day. / THE OBJECT of the game is to see which of the players can win / the Race Around the World. / TO BEGIN: Each player spins the indicator in turn. When a play- / er spins "2" he may begin, but not before. He then places his piece / on the first square, spins again, and moves this piece forward the num- / ber of squares spun. / All squares that have no instructions printed upon them are / "Safty" squares. All squares that have instructions are "Danger" / squares. For instance, square "1" is safe, but "2" and "3" etc. are / dangerous. / When a player's spin takes him to a square having instructions / upon it, he must obey them; but if they take him to another square / that also has instructions upon it, he will pay no attention to the in- / structions on the second square. / When a player's piece is on a "Danger" square, and another play - / er's piece lands on the same square, the last comer removes the piece of the first comer, who is then out of the race, and must spin "2" be- / fore he can begin again. / TO WIN: The first player who reaches the World Building by an / exact spin, wins the game. No move is made for an excessive spin."

Text coming out of the trumpet in the center of the board reads: "ALL RECORDS BROKEN". Text along the railroad track below this reads: "P.R.R. DEPOT". Text on the top of the passenger train is "NELLIE BLY". Text next to the train in the center of the board reads: "FIRST PART OF 73RD DAY".
