DescriptionTwo-piece neon sign comprised of larger business sign, smaller website address sign, two transformers, and power supply. Rectangular neon sign, larger. Glass neon tubes are mounted on a rectangular clear plastic sheet which is screwed to a rectangular aluminum frame with central vertical crossbar. Top two-thirds of sign has one white glass neon tube ice cream cone in each corner flanking white glass neon tube text providing date of establishment; one plastic ice cream cone (black, brown, white, and tan) is mounted inside each neon ice cream cone. Bottom third of sign has two horizontal white glass neon tubes that span the width and frame colorless glass neon tubes spelling the business name. Neon tubes have black rubber ends and are mounted using plastic and metal brackets that attach to the neon tubes with copper wire. Smaller neon sign hangs at top center of this sign between the two plastic ice cream cones. Rectangular neon sign, smaller. Glass neon tubes are mounted on a rectangular clear plastic sheet. White and yellow glass neon tubes spell the website address for the business. Neon tubes have black rubber ends and are mounted using plastic brackets and metal wire. Plastic backer has one wire hanging loop in each top corner, a few holes around the perimeter, and handwritten notes in the bottom two corners. Sign hangs in front of larger sign at top center between the two plastic ice cream cones. Two transformers. Each are rectangular gray metal boxes. Short ends each have three vents and one white circular ceramic connection point. These transformers hook to the larger sign's neon ice cream cones. Power supply. Rectangular black plastic power supply. Two black rubber electrical cords protrude from the top; both cords have been cut and have wires protruding from the ends. Bottom has ball chain power cord and black rubber electrical cord with three-prong plug on the end. Historical NotesNeon signs from Page Dairy Mart. Paige Dairy Mart is an ice cream shop that has been operated by the Page family for four generations. Donor Jared Prusia and his wife Marjorie Page Prusia bought the shop from her parents in March 2020. The shop is located at the intersection of Becks Run Road and East Carson Street in the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This two-piece sign was used for approximately forty years before being replaced with a new one during a rebranding in 2022. As part of the rebranding the name was shortened to Page's.
