Historical NotesTheater poster for the 1926 silent film “The Marriage Clause” at the Grand Theatre. The film was directed by Lois Weber and starred Francis X. Bushman and Billie Dove. The film marked a return to directing for Weber, who had taken a break for a few years. Lois Weber was an American silent film actress, screenwriter, producer, and director from Pittsbugh.
