DescriptionKing Friday XIII Castle television prop or set piece. Overall rectangular three-tiered castle. Painted light blue structure with white, pink, and blue painted cornices and decorative edging on each tier. Bottom tier has two arched doorways with red velvet drapery. Middle tier has balcony with three arched openings; the proper left opening leads to a balcony with gold “XIII” on front. Top tier has two cylindrical towers. Each tower has an arched doorway leading to separate balconies; proper left balcony has “S” and reverse “S” gold decoration around edge and doorway has blue fabric drapery; proper right balcony has gold crown decoration around edge and the doorway has red velvet drapery. Back of castle is open. Structure is wood and some areas of exterior are covered in painted canvas or linen. The interior base has orange-brown carpet on floor. Foam padding on some areas on interior. Black puppetry drapes on interior. Two light sockets on interior and one has light bulb. Historical NotesKing Friday XIII Castle theatrical prop from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood set. Part of a collection from the set of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Mister Rogers was one of the longest running children’s show on public television. It debuted on national television in 1968 and ran until the 2001.
