Historical NotesPart of a collection of Abe Weiner art and artist materials. Abe Weiner was born in Pittsburgh in 1917. After graduating from the School of Fine Arts at Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1941, he joined the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. Weiner worked and lived in Pittsburgh his whole life, but his work was exhibited across the country, most notably in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Cochran Gallery. In 1950, Weiner was named one of the “Fifty Most Promising Painters in the United States” by Life Magazine.
