Label TextOakley’s exhibit at Wunderly galleries presented his 30 Pittsburgh drawings organized into four descriptive categories – The Mills, The River, The City, and The Railroad. Trained by the noted American illustrator and realist Howard Pyle, Oakley mastered both realistic drawing and artistic technique. Here he captures the majesty of a blast furnace emerging from smoke and then portrays that furnace reflected by moonlight in the river below.
